Fun things to do in Sydney this weekend
Weekends are the perfect time to explore everything our beautiful city has to offer. Here are our top picks of fun things to try this weekend.
If you’re thinking food:
Check out Kensigton Street in Chippendale- it’s amazing for authentic, fine dining. We love Olio and the Eastside grill for the ultimate simple dining perfection.
Olio which means oil in Italian, is a mecca of fresh, unique ingredients such as saffron, fresh ricotta and sardines. It’s honesty and simple flavours create a memorable sensory experience.
Eastside Grill- is your sophisticated New York- style steakhouse with a Japanese twist. Perfect for when you’re feeling like a grown up treat. Their burgers and salads are culinary perfection.
Alternatively, why not try a vegan pizza at the infamous Gigi in Newtown? Their woodfired pizzas are jam packed with beautiful ingredients such as grilled eggplant, scrumptious cherry tomatoes, black truffle puree and rosemary. You may have to queue for a few minutes but it’ll definitely be worth it! In our opinion it’s guilt free indulging at its very best.
If you’re thinking activities:
Horseriding
A really fun and worthwhile activity for the colder months is horseriding. It’s really great for most ages and aids with fitness levels that may have slumped during winter. If you want to make a day of it, and enjoy some serenity and blissful surroundings, head to Glenworth Valley. Alternative, you can book some local horseriding in Centennial Park. We guarantee it’ll leave you refreshed and smiling!
Picnic in your local gardens
We’re lucky enough to live in one of the most scenic and nature-rich states in Australia. Why not head to the local gardens for a picnic this weekend? It’ll be cool enough for you to remain virtually undisturbed by local flora and fauna and sunny enough to get some rays and enjoy precious hours outdoors with your loved ones. There are countless gardens and destinations around NSW, however if you get stuck for ideas, The Royal Botanical Gardens are always beautiful and Swain Gardens in Killara are absolutely magnificent. All you need are some tasty snacks and you’re ready to go!
Local Bays
Local bays in winter are surprisingly serene weekend destinations. And while it may not be quite warm enough to go for a dip, you can enjoy some of Sydney’s most pristine local bays and beaches in relative privacy. We love Nielsen’s Park, Parsley Bay, Redleaf Beach and Milk Beach for perfect winter bay days.
Alternatively speak to us today to organise your very own private luxury charter and spend an idyllic day on the Harbour, with optional stops in some inner city beaches and bays. There is no better way to unwind and spend a great day on the water.
